Insulin deficiency in the blood which is resposible for carrying glucose to cell.

Types:

1. Insulin - Dependent Diabetes Mellitus (IDDM)
2. Non - Insulin Dependent Diabetes Mellitus (Non-IDDM)

Insulin - is a hormone secreted by the pancreas that is responsible for breaking down the glucose for proper absorption.

• Insulin Dependent DM (Type 1) - the pancreas did not produce enough insulin.
• Non - Insulin Dependent DM (Type 2) - a develop condition of DM, where there is enough insulin overdose and insufficient intake of carbohydrates.
