Hypoglycemia
A deficiency of glucose in the bloodstream as a result of insulin overdose and insufficient intake of carbohydrates.
Signs and Symptoms:
- Muscular weakness
- Incoordination
- Mental confusion
- Sweating or Deaphorisis
- Palpitation
- Headache
- Tremor
- Dizziness
Management:
- Give sugar orally or candy
- Give glucagon injectable sub - Q if patient can not take sugar by mouth
- Diet modification
- Exercise
