Endometriosis

Inflammation of the endometrium due to acute or chronic infection.
Causes:
- Foreign Bodies
- Bacteria
- Viruses or Parasites
Signs and Symptoms:
- Persistent infertility in an otherwise health married woman.
- Lower abdominal and pelvic pain or discomfort.
- Rectal pain.
- Increasing dyspareunia ( painful intercourse).
- Abnormal bleeding
- Hematuria (blood in the urine).
Management:
- Give analgesic for pain.
- Oral contraceptive maybe use to suppress ovulation
- Surgical intervention maybe required. (hysterectomy)
