Minerals are required in the daily diet for strong bones and teeth, nerve and mucle function, water balance and other essential body functions. The best way to get adequate amounts of minerals is by eating a balanced diet of protein, carbohydrates and fats.
Taking mineral supplements without medical supervision is dangerous because of possible harmful reactions.
